Has anyone had any trouble with Suddenlink internet service's speed? Are there any other Providers?

I love my cheap 8 meg line from suddenlink

I am not saying that I am totally unhappy with them, I just hate calling them for the same thing every so often and they are at a loss on what is wrong. They are always polite and seem to try to fix it, but they never seem to be able to figure out the problem. I hate paying for the fastest speed, and not getting close to it. I am paying for 10 meg and very rarely to I get over 5 meg coming straight out of the modem.

At this rate I should go ahead and pay for the slower speed, but I am not sure if I would get those speeds promised to me.

we have suddenlink and are less than impressed.  we are always having cable issues.. tv goes all spotty and i get a notice on my screen that says poor signal quality???  and internet is no better.  i was however under the impression that suddenlink was our only option.  att told us they dont come out here.  we dont have a land line and dont want one, we use our cell phones.  so who is good for cable and internet only??
