Yes there is "Partnership" but you have to pay $89 for their best speeds and those speeds are only a third of Suddenlinks. I had them out again today and they replaced my modem (again)... But I am still having issues with speeds not being consistant or being what I am paying for. The tech was at a loss and said that they would be out again with a different tech, that might have more knowledge. Very frustraiting.

I have att dsl dry loop.  We've been in Anna 3 years now...I had trouble ALL the time...It seemed the techs lived at my house! I was about to cancel up until about 2 months ago.  ...Anyway, my awesome husband took it upon himself to find out what was wrong.  The plug in the wall, well...one of the wires was not stripped well and insulation was under the screw so it was not connecting well.  Something as simple as that...and the ATT techs didn't have a clue or even mention that could be the problem.  I Love my ATT DSL now :)....but really!!!!...shouldn't that of been one of the first things they checked?

I didn't see until just now this was old, but I will post anyways in case someone can find it useful...

This is at PEAK time, near 6 pm.  I pay for the 15Mb download package.  The reason I love Suddenlink, is I ALWAYS have more than double the upload speed of the fastest AT&T DSL package.  And I ALWAYS have faster download speeds than the fastest AT&T package (usually 3 times faster).  For the SAME PRICE.  I will never go back to AT&T.  I have had zero issues with Suddenlink since I started up with them a couple months ago.  The only problems I had were related to a faulty modem I bought from Amazon.com - the new modem I got, has been pure since the day I hooked it up.

I don't know when it's going to happen, but when they do go DOCSIS 3.0 standard I will be all over their highest speed package then too.  They are adding more and more fiber-optic sections into their network, and that's why the speeds in Anna increased so much recently.  It's not quite fiber to the curb yet, but it is light years ahead of anything else available in town right now.  It's still cable Internet, so during peak times you don't get the max rated download, but the upload is nearly always the same no matter what.  Upload is very important to me for online gaming.

Downloading MP3's is so much fun, I timed 4 MP3's yesterday.  8 seconds for all 4 at the same time!  ( I was testing out at 15.2 download speed at the time)

Suddenlink all the way. DSL can't even compare. And this is the slower of the two packages that they offer here in Anna. I was told they are working on 20MB/2MB, but that may take some more months to get here, and so 10MB/1MB for $39 is not too bad.

Enjoy it.

My uptime is about 100% and I work from home - lugging huge databases and spreadsheets around. With AT&T DSL that was not even close to possible. That's why I left them about two months ago.

I've heard rumors of that, but I'm way to gun shy to ever *actually* go back.  I was down every other evening, between midnight and 0200, for something like EIGHT MONTHS and those idiots were convinced rebooting my XP box would fix it.  God I hate Suddenlink.

Continued fortune and good luck to you, sir!

Same here, except I never had AT&T DSL.

I'd be wary of going back after your experience also eric.  but honestly since i've had suddenlink (starting last sept) I've seen little downtime.

If I had problems with Suddenlink, I would be ranting and raving about it on here.  But, they really do appear to have their act together now.  E, the downtime just doesn't exist anymore.  That can change at any second I know, but if you think Suddenlink is as bad now as it used to be... they did have an ownership change I believe.  The speeds for the money just blow SBC out of the freaking water and then light it on fire after it dries on the beach.

Suddenlink does have a small charge for installation.  They might wave that if you mention your previous misfortune with them.

They also are month-to-month so there's no contract.  You could always do what I did.  Fire up Suddenlink while keeping SBC.  You can call SBC and tell them you want to quit them ( I wish I knew how to quit you) and they will give you a massive discount.  So worst case scenario you check Suddenlink out again, aren't happy, and walk away only spending a few bucks to check it out and keep SBC the whole time.

I STRONGLY recommend the docsis 3.0 Motorola modem from Amazon.com - it's $85 right now.  But, they will take a return and give a complete refund if you don't like it (or cancel Suddenlink).  I bought a Linksys cm100 modem and it did not work out.  I thought Suddenlink was the problem and almost cancelled them, but I decided to try a better modem and I have been pure ever since.  I returned the Linksys without the box, manual, or usb cable.  Just the modem and power supply and a random cat5 cable I had.  They gave me a full refund.  The 3.0 modem is 'future proof' and will run the faster service when they launch it in our area.

My net dies around every six months or so.  Never had a single issue when it was cebridge, but hassles after suddenlink took over.  Doing the same thing right now.  Don't lose online status on modem, but the cable light blinks every few seconds.  Last time, the tech could never figure it out, then it started working on it's own.  .????

We use GCEC and don't have many problems. Occasional outages, but not often enough to cause us major issues. My husband works from home (using the computer ALL day) and we homeschool three kids that use a lot of computer time. Now, six years ago, when we first moved here, we had more problems. We use Dish for tv.
