Another Suddenlink user here. I dropped GCEC DSL right after Suddenlink became first available (maybe 3-4 years ago?, it's been a while

, and I can't complain much. I can count outages in 3 years as less than 10. Typically, they are 5 minutes or less. The longest of them caused by my neighbor using a shovel on my buried cable wire while landscaping around the box. I was annoyed that it got cut on a Friday and was fixed on a Monday, but the outage wasn't their fault. I too went through a period where my connection wouldn't muster anything beyond about 4mbs, and I worked with tech support in Tyler for about an hour until they dispatched a tech for the next day (Saturday). One new modem later, problem solved.
I work in IT with a open desktop sharing program back to the house all day. I use the internet for XBL gaming and Netflix all evening. When I have an outage, I know quickly, unless it's between midnight and 6am... gotta sleep sometime.

I'm looking forward to their higher speed offering, supposedly coming this summer. When I get two Netflix sessions going, my remoting software, and camp out on financial data feeds, things can get a bit congested with only 10mbs to work with.
